My Experience of the Boer War, by Count Adelbert von Sternberg

The Anglo Boer War (also known as the South African War) was fought between the armies of Great Britain and those of the old Transvaal and Orange Free State Republics, between the years 1899 - 1903.

This book recounts the author's experiences as a war correspondent, on the side of the Boer armies, during the war. It gives a very clear discussion of the way that military actions were carried out at the time, as well as some detailed discussion how how military strategy should be amended for "future wars".

The book reads easily, with a flowing narrative and is compelling reading even for 'non-serious' readers on military strategy or the Boer War.
